Having established a partnership with Fair Repair, Department of Housing, and Spotless to create trades-based jobs for public housing residents in the Macarthur area, TAFE Outreach developed a program to train unemployed people to work with Fair Repair and Spotless, a company contracted by Department of Housing to repair Housing commission houses in the Macarthur area.
Negotiations with TAFE's Carpentry section enhanced the program with access to their expertise and resources. The program integrated employability skills with trade skills.
Fifty eight people applied for the program, only 16 were able to be chosen.
